Chef Bernhard Mairinger asked us to partner up with him once again to open his first of many imbisses 'snack shops'.  It is located in the old spring arcade building in downtown Los Angeles.  Inspired by the beautiful arches found all over Austrian beer halls we were led to the design of the large blackened steel and wood framework overhead.  Below this you will find warm woods and materials filling the space to set the tone.  Within this space there is a large window with a view into Chef Mairingers in house bakery.  Reclaimed mahogany, supplied by Chef Mairinger was used to create all of the table tops and boxes used to display the freshly baked bread.  All millwork including the cantilevered banquettes were designed in-house.
